How do I know if I am eligible to participate?

To participate in the Alabama Power Smart Advantage you need to:

- Be an active Alabama Power residential customer.
- Be on the Alabama Power Residential Time Advantage Energy Rate Plan and stay on for at least 12 months, or let Alabama Power put you on the Alabama Power Residential Time Advantage Energy Rate Plan for at least 12 months.
- Have at least one Sensi smart thermostat installed in your home*.
- Have an always-on Wi-Fi network installed in your home. (Intermittent Wi-Fi outages do not affect your eligibility.)
- Use your smart thermostat(s) to control your electrical central A/C and/or single stage heat pump.
- Be on our FD - Family Dwelling*, FDD - Family Dwelling Demand, RTA-EO - Residential Time Advantage Energy Only, or RTA - Residential Time Advantage Demand* energy rates. (You can find your current electric service rate on page 2 of your bill in the Current Electrical Service section - see below).

 

 

*the program supports a maximum of two Sensi thermostats.
**if you are on our FD, FDD, or RTA energy rates enrolling in Smart Advantage will involve Alabama Power changing your rate code to RTA-EO (Residential Time Advantage Energy Only) to complete your enrollment."
