Alabama Power Smart Advantage is committed to protecting customer privacy. The program’s industry-leading platform is specifically designed for data security. The platform is built on a custom cloud architecture complete with advanced features for ensuring data privacy and integrity. Smart Advantage also employs security industry best practices such as authentication and encryption protocols.

During the registration process, you will be asked to authorize Smart Advantage to access your thermostat data. Please review this request to ensure you are comfortable sharing this information.

For communication with your smart thermostat, Smart Advantage adheres to Copeland’s security requirements. Note that Smart Advantage does not connect directly to your smart thermostat and all thermostat data received is controlled by Copeland’s robust and secure application program interfaces (APIs).
